Youth Participation in Decision-Making Shapes the Future
Project Goal
This project seeks to empower young people with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to actively engage in local decision-making processes, while fostering a culture of democracy, volunteerism, and civic responsibility in the municipalities of Berat, Dimal, and Kuçovë.
Project Description
New Bridges has observed the persistent challenges faced by young people in rural and semi-urban municipalities, particularly the lack of youth-friendly infrastructure, limited visibility in public decision-making, and insufficient access to civic education and advocacy tools. Through this initiative, New Bridges aimed to address these gaps by launching a structured, year-long program that builds capacity among youth, strengthens their relationship with local institutions, and promotes inclusive and participatory governance. The project was implemented over 12 months with the support of the National Youth Agency (AKR) and was tailored to respond to the unique needs of local youth in three target municipalities. The project had a direct and transformative impact on 300 young individuals, aged 15–29, across the municipalities of Berat, Dimal, and Kuçovë. It created platforms for engagement, co-designed youth policies, and built stronger communication channels between youth and local government bodies. A standout result of the project was the collaborative drafting of three Local Youth Action Plans (2025–2027), developed jointly by youth, municipal staff, and civil society actors. These documents now serve as a strategic framework for youth development at the municipal level. At the core of the project was the creation of vibrant local spaces—both physical and civic—where young people could express ideas, advocate for their needs, and influence public discourse. Through workshops, training sessions, and local advocacy actions, youth participants were given the confidence and competence to engage meaningfully with governance systems. The initiative also emphasized inclusion, ensuring that rural youth and marginalized groups were not only present but actively contributing to the dialogue.

The project featured a dynamic blend of educational, advocacy, and community-based activities, such as:
- Training on youth law, volunteerism, and civic rights.
- Workshops on writing mini-projects and local advocacy.
- Dialogue meetings with municipal councils.
- Monitoring of youth council meetings.
- Design and implementation of youth-led initiatives.
- Public events, open forums, and a final conference.

Ky projekt synon të fuqizojë të rinjtë me mjete, njohuri dhe mundësi për të marrë pjesë aktive në proceset e vendimmarrjes lokale, duke nxitur një kulturë të demokracisë, vullnetarizmit dhe përgjegjësisë qytetare në bashkitë Berat, Dimal dhe Kuçovë.
Përshkrimi i Projektit
New Bridges ka vërejtur sfida të vazhdueshme me të cilat përballen të rinjtë në bashkitë rurale dhe gjysmë-urbane, veçanërisht mungesën e infrastrukturës rinore miqësore, përfshirjen e ulët në vendimmarrje dhe qasjen e kufizuar në edukimin qytetar dhe mjetet për avokim. Përmes kësaj nisme, New Bridges synoi të adresojë këto boshllëqe përmes një programi të strukturuar njëvjeçar, që fuqizon të rinjtë, forcon marrëdhënien e tyre me institucionet vendore dhe promovon qeverisjen gjithëpërfshirëse dhe pjesëmarrëse.
Projekti u zbatua përgjatë 12 muajve me mbështetjen e Agjencisë Kombëtare të Rinisë (AKR) dhe ishte përshtatur për të adresuar nevojat unike të të rinjve në tre bashki. Projekti pati ndikim të drejtpërdrejtë dhe transformues mbi 300 të rinj të moshës 15–29 vjeç në bashkitë Berat, Dimal dhe Kuçovë. Ai krijoi platforma për përfshirje, bashkëhartoi politika rinore dhe ndërtoi kanale të forta komunikimi midis të rinjve dhe institucioneve vendore. Një rezultat i rëndësishëm ishte hartimi i Planeve Lokale të Veprimit për Rininë (2025–2027) pëe seicilën bashki, të zhvilluara në bashkëpunim me të rinjtë, stafin e bashkive dhe aktorë të shoqërisë civile. Në thelb të projektit ishte krijimi i hapësirave të gjalla lokale – fizike dhe qytetare – ku të rinjtë mund të shprehnin idetë, të avokonin për nevojat e tyre dhe të ndikonin në diskursin publik. Përmes workshop-eve, trajnimeve dhe nismave avokuese, pjesëmarrësit u pajisën me njohuri dhe besim për të ndërvepruar me institucionet vendore. Nisma theksoi gjithashtu përfshirjen, duke garantuar që të rinjtë nga zonat rurale dhe grupet e margjinalizuara të ishin të pranishëm dhe të angazhuar aktivisht.
Përmbledhje e Aktiviteteve
Projekti përfshiu një kombinim dinamik të aktiviteteve edukative, avokuese dhe komunitare, si:
- Trajnime për ligjin e rinisë, vullnetarizëm dhe të drejta qytetare.
- Workshop-e për shkrimin e mini-projekteve dhe avokim lokal.
- Takime dialogu me këshillat bashkiakë.
- Monitorim i mbledhjeve të Këshillave Rinorë Vendorë.
- Zbatim i nismave të udhëhequra nga të rinjtë.
- Evente publike, forume të hapura dhe një aktivitet përmbyllës në nivel kombëtar.
