Empowering young people to actively participate in local democracy and become agents of change within their communities.

Implemented by New Bridges and supported by LëvizAlbania, the project aimed to strengthen youth participation and civic engagement in the Municipality of Berat.
The initiative engaged young people from 11 high schools across Berat and its administrative units through information sessions, advocacy activities, and community discussions focused on local governance and youth issues. Around 290 students were informed and encouraged to take part in civic life and community action.
As part of the project, a Local Youth Advocacy Coalition was established, bringing together 29 young people from different areas and communities, including rural areas as well as Roma and Egyptian youth. Coalition members participated in trainings on participatory governance, lobbying, community mobilization, and local monitoring.
The project also included the preparation and public presentation of a monitoring report assessing local electoral promises related to youth policies, services, and opportunities in Berat. The findings encouraged dialogue between young people and local authorities and highlighted the importance of stronger youth inclusion in local decision-making processes.
