Empower the community and youth

The “New Bridges” association is founded in 2017 by a group of active citizens from Dimal, Kucova, and Berat. It was established to addresses the need for an active civil society in Dimali municipality as well as the Berati region as well as to empower local communities and enhance civic participation to advance critical local issues such as good governance, gender equality, youth engagement, and environmental sustainability.

Vision

A just, inclusive, and sustainable society where all individuals, especially youth and marginalized groups, actively participate in decision-making, promote gender equality, and contribute to environmental protection.

Mission
Empowering the community to participate in economic, social, and environmental initiatives at the local level through awareness-raising, educational programs, advocacy efforts, and community-led actions.

Awareness and Education

Goal:
Empower citizens, increasing their knowledge and skills to actively engage in community development initiatives. 

Objectives:

  • To increase community awareness and understanding of civic engagement, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.
  • To develop leadership skills for young people and representatives of marginalized groups.

Advocacy and Community Initiatives

Goal:
Improving local governance, social services, and environmental protection through citizen-led initiatives.

Objectives:

  • To advocate for the effective implementation legal and policy framework at local level and to improve of local policies and regulations to address community needs.
  • To support and implement community-led initiatives for gender equality, youth participation, and climate action.

Capacity Building and Consultancy Services

Goal:
Enhancing the effectiveness and impact of civil society organizations, local institutions, and community representatives through tailored consultancy services.

Objectives:

  • To strengthen civil society organizations and local government institutions through the provision of consultancy services focusing on strategic planning and policy formulation.
  • To increase the capacity of civil society organizations, especially grassroots, and local government institutions in designing, implementing, and assessing effective and efficient projects on gender equality, youth engagement, and climate action.
